U21 national coach Antonio di Salvo has called four newcomers in the squad for the upcoming EM qualifying games.
Simon Asta (Greuther Fürth), Reda Khadra (Blackburn Rovers), Felix Nmecha (VfL Wolfsburg) and Patrick Osterhage (VfL Bochum) could give their debut for the DFB offspring.
A total of 25 players in the squad for the games on March 25th in Aachen against Latvia (18:15 clock) and on March 29 in Israel (5 pm / both ProSieben Maxx).
Not due to injury is storm talent Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund.
"Due to the still sensitive pandemic location, we have nominated a larger squad to react to short-term failures," said Di Salvo: "We will be well integrated the new players and are curious how they present themselves."
The German U21 leads the qualification group B after six games with 15 meters. The same is followed by Israel in second place in front of Poland (13). The finals will take place in the summer of 2023 in Romania and Georgia.
"Our clear goal is to qualify us directly and as a group player for the European Championship. That's why we want to build a lead in the table in the March international matches," Di Salvo said.
